Fair Winds and Following Seas

One of the greatest honors available to us as citizens of this great country is the opportunity to serve in the U.S. military.  A few make the commitment and take the oath to serve, and most complete one or two tours and decide to start the next chapter of their life as a civilian.  Fewer still make the commitment to serve this country for an entire career.  20+ years of faithful and selfless service is no easy undertaking.

Today I had the opportunity to photograph a man who's done just that.  As a Master Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, John has "been there and done that".  He's getting ready to retire in a few months and needed a couple portraits to use for his ceremony invitations.  It was a pleasure to capture his image in his Dress Blues and see the pride of his service in his eyes.

John, I'm honored to say that I've been able to serve along side you.  From one sailor to another, thank you for your service Shipmate!  Fair winds and following seas.
