So a few months ago I got the chance to photograph this beautiful girl! Everyone meet Vianna...or Vee for short. We got together for a quick session back in July. I now, right- way back in July and I'm barely getting around to blogging it. Oh well, better late than never they say. Anyway, we started out on the side of a road right around the corner from her house. There's a side walk that I drive by every day and I knew I wanted to take some shots there and her session was the perfect time to do it.
After battling the ants and a few creepy crawly bugs that were in a little upset we were invading their turf we walked across the street to an open field with a couple big trees. Random, but it was cool. It was there that things started getting a little interesting. The wind started picking up and some clouds came rolling in...then came the thunder and some distant lightening. In the middle of July! It never rains, yet alone thunder and lightening, in central California in July!
The storm wasn't right on top of us and I still wanted to get one more location in before we wrapped up. So I got back in my car and Vee and her mom followed me over to a neighborhood not far down the road. The wind coming from the west forced me to think quick and find a spot that would be shielded from the wind because I wanted to use that awesome maroon hat she had. Luckily I knew the look I was going for and I found a spot just around the corner from where I originally had in mind. Score one for the photographer!
We finished up the shoot just in time. A few minutes after getting my gear packed up and put away in the car it started to rain and mother nature gave us a pretty good light show.
I really love the way Vee's photos came out and I can't wait to finish up her senior photos with a full session including hair and makeup! Be on the look out for her full session that will be coming soon. Oh, and before I forget- if you know Vee from school, or anywhere else, pull her aside and let her know how amazing her photos are and ask her for a rep card. There's something in it for you...I promise!
All of these were shot with available ambient light. I used my canon 5D mark II and Canon 135mm F/2 L lens. What an awesome combination that body and lens make. Enjoy the rest of her photos!
Look at that smile!! Doesn't it just light up your day?
